Marianne Aura Cayzen is a minor character who appears in Trigun (1998 anime).
Biography<!-- incomplete -->
Marianne was investigating Mr. Cliff Schezar's water facility by posing as a socialite. Vash the Stampede was hired as a bodyguard by Mr. Cliff and immediately took a liking to her.TRUTH OF MISTAKE

Character
Appearance
Marianne is an attractive young woman. She is fairly tall and slender. She has long, slightly wavy blonde hair and violet eyes.

Marianne wears a floor-length dress. The skirt has a dark mauve outer layer and pale pink inner layer. The bodice is a a lighter mauve color and the sleeves and collar beneath are white. The sleeves are puffy at the shoulder and go down to her forearm, where they have a frilly edge. The shirt collar covers her neck. She wears her hair down with this outfit.<!-- need to describe the dress better with actual terms i have no idea what i am talking about here -->

Marianne's marshal uniform is a red jumpsuit with a tall collar. Her badge is pinned on the left side of her chest. She wears her hair in an updo that points upwards. From a distance, she resembles Vash the Stampede in this outfit.

Personality
Occupation
Marianne is a Marshal from the Stantal Federal Bureau.

Family
Marianne is introduced as the granddaughter of the head of the Stantal Fedreal Bureau, though this may have only been a cover to get her inside of Mr. Cliff's mansion to investigate.
Marianne's gun initially resembles a Long Colt revolver similar to Vash's. Unlike Vash's, it has a crossbow-like mechanism that can be activated. The purpose of this mechanism is unclear, as Marianne is unable to fire her gun due to the injury in her shoulder and being disarmed by Mr. Cliff.<gallery mode="packed">
Patricia and Marilyn were outraged by Meryl saying they should include "naughty fanservice" in their show to satisfy the demands of the viewers. Marilyn said she did not want her little brother exposed to this kind of fanservice and that she was going to file a complaint. The Professor told them to shut up.
=== Badlands Rumble===<!-- her story in Badlands Rumble -->

Character
Appearance
Meryl is a petite woman with violet eyes and black hair that's cut into a longish pixie style. She wears a white thigh-length tunic over black tights, and she wears white ankle-high boots on her feet. Over her outfit, she wears a cape-like cloak that is longer in the back than in the front. Attached to the lining of this cloak are long strips that hold all of her derringer pistols. Finally, on her ears, she wears a pair of earrings consisting of long gold bars.

Personality
Meryl is very "matter-of-fact" and "by-the-book". She is eager to prove herself and has little tolerance for any shenanigans. She starts the series as a hardline professional, but mellows considerably by its end.

Occupation
Meryl is an insurance claims investigator, and is assigned to find Vash and keep an eye on him so that he stops breaking things and generating claims.

Family
<!-- mentioned in little arcadia in passing -->

Relationships
Milly Thompson
Meryl is initially Milly's superior and/or trainer, but by the end of the series has developed a genuine friendship with her.

Vash the Stampede
Meryl and Vash start out at odds, but end up developing a deep and abiding respect for each other by the end of the series. It is somewhat more obvious that Meryl has developed romantic feelings for Vash, but she cannot bring herself to confess to him before the series ends. Meryl knows nothing about Knives, Legato, or the Gung-Ho-Guns save for what Vash has told her and what little she's seen by following him around.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Meryl and Wolfwood are on good terms, but their relationship does not become very personal.
Midvalley the Hornfreak is a Gung-Ho Gun who appears in Trigun (1998 anime).

Biography<!-- needs to be rewritten in proper style w/ storylinks -->
The 1998 anime does not go into how Midvalley falls in with Knives and Legato. He appears for the first time with his band at the saloon in Jeneora Rock, where he is entertaining the patrons just before Legato slaughters the Roderick Thieves. He is next seen introducing the Gung-Ho Guns and pledging their loyalty to Legato up by Jeneora Rock's windmill. From then on, he acts as Legato's personal assistant - he is with Legato at Augusta when Vash uses his Angel Arm; he is with Legato at the beginning of "Out Of Time" when Legato promises Knives that he will make Vash's life a living hell; and he is with Legato again when Chapel the Evergreen is dealt with in the episode "SIN". Midvalley travels to LR Town with Legato to confront Vash, and reveals that he, like Legato, believes that Knives is an all-powerful being more or less worthy of worship. Vash and Midvalley fight until Midvalley's saxophone machine gun jams, at which time he chooses to detonate the gun and kill himself rather than be spared.Clear
Appearance
Midvalley is an unusually tall man who wears a black double-breasted suit over a pink dress shirt that has the top few buttons undone. His black hair is slicked back, though a few strands fall over his face. He is quite good-looking.<gallery mode="packed" heights="150">
Personality
Midvalley comes across as suave and charismatic; cool and calm. He's generally affable, and he remains loyal to Legato (and Knives, by extension) right up until the end.
Occupation
Midvalley is a musician in addition to being a Gung-Ho Gun. He is seen playing saxophone while performing with his band multiple times.

Biography
1998 anime
Character
Appearance
Knives is tall and toned, with a body akin to a Greek statue. He has sharp features, and wears his white-blond hair in a short crew-cut. For clothing, he simply wears one of the old Project Seeds bodysuits, sometimes with a raggedy poncho over it.

Personality
Knives comes across as cold and sociopathic. He prefers logic over emotion, seeing the acceptance and expression of emotion as a sign of weakness. When it comes to Vash, however, he can become very emotional. He seems to experience love as obsession and express it as possessiveness. His wrath is something to be feared when combined with the powers that he has.

Occupation
He's the series' main antagonist. His eventual goal is to destroy the humans on the planet who survived the Fall.
Family
Knives has one brother, Vash the Stampede, from whom he is estranged. Rem Saverem served as his adoptive mother.
Relationships
Rem Saverem
Knives' relationship to Rem is primarily that of mother-and-child.

Vash the Stampede
His relationship with Vash is that of an estranged sibling.

Legato Bluesummers
Knives' relationship to Legato is that of a god or lord - someone worthy of reverence.

Gung-Ho-Guns
Knives' personal army. Legato has control of them while Knives regenerates. He is the only member of the bunch to talk to Knives directly.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Wolfwood is the subordinate of a subordinate, and it is questionable if Knives even knows he exists in the anime.

Canonically, Knives has no lovers, as he holds humanity in the utmost contempt.
Monev the Gale is a Gung-Ho Gun who appears in Trigun (1998 anime) and Trigun (manga).

Biography
1998 anime
Monev spent twenty years locked in a cellar being brutally trained as a fighter. DIABLO (episode) The man he thought to be his father was actually an agent.Vash the Stampede (episode)

One day, Monev was unexpectedly visited by Legato. Legato told him that he will be going after Vash the Stampede, which gave him a thrill.

Monev found Vash when he was locked up in jail and confronted him. He was disgusted to find that Vash didn't want to fight him. Monev tried to goad Vash into fighting back, but Vash was focused on getting the townspeople out of harm's way first and foremost. Seeing this, Monev killed some of the town's residents. Monev initially thought he'd killed Vash as well, and laughs triumphantly, declaring that at last, he was finally free to live the way he wanted to live. He was suddenly struck by multiple gunshots to his mask by Vash, who appeared from the rubble. Upon seeing Vash, Monev was stricken with fear, comparing Vash's glowing eyes to those of the diablo. Monev fled as the enraged Vash fired another shot at him.

Though he was now scared, Monev was determined to kill Vash. He faced Vash again outside the Planet Bank, and anticipated Vash's plan to use the vault door as a shield. However, he did not anticipate the explosive charge Vash had placed and the vault door was propelled forward at Monev, knocking him back. Vash jumped out from behind the vault door and Monev fired off a missile at Vash, who he assumed had no more bullets. Instead, Vash revealed his hidden arm gun, which he used to shoot the missile. The explosion knocked the gun out of Monev's arms, shattered his mask, and threw him to the ground. The stunned Monev was enraged when he realized Vash had a hidden gun he could have used all along.

Vash began walking towards him, furious that Monev had killed so many innocent people. Monev replied "who the hell cares?" only to be brutally kicked in the face. Vash pinned Monev to the ground with his arm gun pressed directly onto Monev's right eye, as he furiously shouted how because Monev was solely responsible for their deaths that he was also going to die. The terrified Monev began whimpering in fear, crying out for mercy. Vash suddenly froze before taking his gun away from Monev's eye, then began to cry. DIABLO (episode)

Monev, still pinned beneath the crying Vash, asked if he was going to shoot him. Vash instead asked where he could find his boss. Monev explains that he was "bought" and that this wasn't his fault. Vash got up and began to walk away. Monev told him "it's dangerous to be too trusting, what if [he] got up and shot [him] in the back?" Vash revealed he'd had his finger on the trigger of his gun the whole time, and that he "was not that trusting." and let Monev go free. Vash the Stampede (episode)

E.G. Mine murdered Monev and left his corpse pinned to a wall in Augusta, alongside Dominique the Cyclops. FIFTH MOON (episode)

*The mob leader is among the group of anime-only characters who appear in Trigun Maximum Volume 12, Chapter 1 for a brief cameo.
*In the Pioneer English credits, this character is incorrectly credited as being voiced by Kazunori Sato, which appears to be a mistranslation of Issei Futamata's name. This credit was corrected in the Funimation release.
*This character is unnamed, but was mistakenly referred to as "Joshua" in the BESM Trigun Fan Guides, possibly due to the name appearing in the English end credits for episode 3, which itself could be a translation error. However, Issei Futamata, the mob leader's voice actor, is not credited as Joshua, which further confirms that this is not the character's name.
===Badlands Rumble===<!-- her story in Badlands Rumble -->

Character
Appearance
Milly is big and tall for a woman - she's almost as tall as Vash. She has long golden-brown hair and sky blue eyes. For clothes, she mainly wears a white dress shirt with a maroon tie, and tan pants that are rolled up on the bottom and held up with yellow suspenders. Over this, she wears a teal and tan greatcoat. Occasionally, she is seen in yellow pajamas, and she is seen one time in her Bernardelli work uniform.
Personality
Milly is sweet, friendly, bubbly, and kind-hearted. She comes across as an airhead, but is actually quite insightful and perceptive when it comes to people. When she gets angry enough, however, she won't hesitate to make it known. But she also seems quick to forgive.
Occupation
Milly is an insurance claims investigator, and is assigned to find Vash and keep an eye on him so that he stops breaking things and generating claims.
Family
Milly grew up in a large family as the youngest of 10. It's assumed that her parents are still living, though it's not said where.
Relationships
Meryl Stryfe
Milly's relationship to Meryl is initially that of trainee or subordinate (and quasi-bodyguard). As the series progresses, however, this grows into genuine friendship.

Vash the Stampede
Milly's relationship to Vash is amicable, though not very personal.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Milly's relationship to Wolfwood starts out amicable, but seemingly deepens into something more - the two spend the night before his duel with Chapel making love. She is devastated when he dies.

<!-- this text possibly irrelevant for this section, will find better place for it: "Milly seems to be unaware of Knives, Legato, or the Gung-Ho-Guns beyond what Vash or Wolfwood may have told her." -->
Revoltech is a toyline consisting of highly articulated action figures utilizing the unique Revolver joint, manufactured by Kaiyodo.

Overview
Revoltech figures use a unique ratcheting joint known as the Revolver Joint. This allows figures to have a wide range of motion and the ability to hold dynamic poses. The Revolver joint was based on an idea by Yasuhiro Nightow and developed by his company, TOYTRIBE. The name Revoltech is a portmanteau of the words "revolver" and "technology."

Biography
Rai-Dei participated in the massacre Roderick Thieves at Jeneorarock and was present for the Gung-Ho Gun roll call. DEMONS EYE

Rai-Dei again appeared in in the city of Augusta to challenge Vash to a fight after killing would-be competitor E.G. Mine. Rai-Dei was disgusted by Vash's lack of interest in fighting him, but he was also frustrated because if Vash wouldn't fight him, then he couldn't achieve the supposed enlightenment that comes with facing the fear of death. Rai-Dei backed Vash up against a wall and revealed that his katana also contained a gun by firing a few shots. Vash's Angel Arm then began to activate, due to the control of Legato. This surprised Rai-Dei, and then began to frighten him. He didn't know what is happening and desperately begged for an explanation despite Vash's pleas for him to run away. As a result, Rai-Dei unwittingly ended up getting a front-row seat to the destruction of Augusta. He miraculously survived, only to be shot dead by Nicholas D. Wolfwood when he tried to appeal to Wolfwood to help him stop Vash (who had disappeared by this time).FIFTH MOON (episode)Clear
