Vash agreed that it was a good song, and Kaite continued singing. Vash thought of how Rem loved the song and began to cry. He spoke with [[Meryl Stryfe (anime)|Meryl Stryfe]] and [[Milly Thompson (anime)|Milly Thompson]] in his office, cheerfully telling them that there was no sheriff in his town as nothing big would ever happen there and that the worst they had to deal with were the antics of drunks. When Meryl tried to warn him about [[Vash the Stampede (anime)|Vash the Stampede]] possibly coming to Warrens City, the mayor laughed and dismissed it as ridiculous. He jokingly said that if Vash was really that great, he'd like to be attacked by him once ''<sup>sub</sup>''/that "''it'd be kinda fun to have him attack and spice things up around here.''"''<sup>dub</sup>''


One night while recovering from his injuries, Vash sat under the stars and began quietly singing "Sound Life" to himself. He was the mayor of Warrens City.
