Biography

Caine the Longshot is present with the other Gung-Ho Guns at Jeneora Rock when they slaughter half the remaining Rodericks.DEMONS EYE

Caine appears again in the desert on the outskirts of Tonim Town, where he sets up his long, long rifle and camoflauges himself in an attempt to shoot and kill Vash the Stampede from a distance. However, Vash is able to figure out where Caine is by calculating the trajectory of his shots. He confronts Caine and seemingly talks him down, only to have Caine pull out a pistol and shoot himself dead.PARADISE

Development

Caine was an original character for the anime, created by Trigun mechanical designer Noriyuki Jinnguji, as Yasuhiro Nightow had not yet created all of the Gung-Ho Gun characters.
