Synopsis

Characters

Anime

The beginning of the chapter where Vash is ambushed by the bounty hunters in the restaurant as well as the chapter's ending where Monica pulls a gun on him while backed by the people of Inepril City was adapted into episode 5 of the anime, "HARD PUNCHER."

Meryl and Milly's introduction scene in the diner, encounter with the rude patreons, and conversation with the chef was adapted into episode 1 of the anime, "The $$60 Billion Man."

The chapter also shares its name with the first episode of the anime in both Japanese and English, although the English episode title emits the "Double Dollar" text in both the Pioneer and Funimation releases.

Vash's picture on the wanted poster in the opening scene of Badlands Rumble is based on the wanted poster on the first page of this chapter.

Notes

  • The first 4 pages of the chapter were originally printed in color, but are printed in grayscale in the Dark Horse English release of Volume 1.
  • The colored version of page 3 was included in the Trigun Art Book.
