HIGH NOON AT JULY is the prologue chapter of Trigun.
Synopsis
On July 21st of Stardate 0104 at 1:06 PM, eleven hours after the destruction of the Third City July, a lone man crouches atop a rocky outcrop amongst the rubble. His face is mostly obscured by the tattered cloak wrapped around him, but what can be seen shows a blank expression.
Characters
Anime
The prologue's story was adapted into episode 6 of the anime, "LOST JULY", in which it was greatly expanded on by Elizabeth, who describes what happened in the aftermath of the destruction of July. When she tells this story, Vash appears during the flashback wearing the similar tattered cloak and blank expression on his face.
