In order of appearance:

Manga

This episode's story is adapted from the Trigun pilot chapter. It follows the original manga fairly closely but with the following major differences:

  • Bostalk is a Count instead of an Earl.
  • Meryl and Milly are not in the pilot chapter.
    • There are three unnamed hostages in their position, one of which is killed during the mercenary ambush.
  • Marvin is killed when he is hit by the wagon.
  • Bostalk dies after being shot by Ingway in their final duel.
  • Vash's prosthetic arm gun is revealed and used when Stan's men ambush him.
  • Vash uses his arm gun instead of his Long Colt revolver when he confronts Stan. He points his gun at Stan's chest instead of his head.
  • Vash shoots the sheriff badge while it is still on Stan's chest instead of pulling it off and throwing it in the air.

Additionally, a brief scene from "RIVER OF LIFE" is adapted when Meryl dramatically opens her cape, showing it is lined with Derringers.

Notes

Errors

Animation

Stefany's dress changing color between scenes.
  • Stefany's dress is briefly colored teal when she asks Meryl and Milly if they'd like to play cards with her. This color matches the backs of the cards Stefany is holding in a previous scene, but is no longer holding in this specific shot.
    Kuroneko with visible cel edge.
  • When Kuroneko flies into the frame during the bar ambush, the edge of the cel is briefly visible, making it appear as if she is missing the bottom half of her body.
