Biography
Keele is an employee of the Bernardelli Insurance Society and former elite military. In February 0113, shortly after Vash the Stampede was sighted in Ripmela, the society put Keele on the Vash case. His predecessor on the case, Meryl Stryfe, offered her reports for reference, but he dismissed them as ludicrous.
After taking the bus to Meldreck, Keele made his way to Vash's room in the Hotel Ann and introduced himself. He convinced Vash to open the door by claiming to bring word from Meryl, then attacked with weapons he had hidden in his suitcase. Though his opening shots with a shotgun failed, he knocked Vash off-balance with an automatic rifle. He then tossed a handful of grenades into the room, blasting Vash out the back wall and into an unsuspecting car below, and proceeded to open fire. Vash took several bullets to the back in order to shield the car's driver.
Keele was forced to retreat when Nicholas D. Wolfwood appeared and fired back at him. He took up position on a roof and pulled out a sniper rifle, hoping to finish the job in a single shot, but was interrupted by Meryl. She'd figured out that Keele wanted to permanently "manage" the risk by assassinating Vash, and then he and his accomplices would volunteer to help clean up the damage to the town for some extra money on the side. He aimed a gun at Meryl's head... and was sent flying by one of Milly Thompson's stun gun fangs. He skidded across the ground on his face.
He was taken to the hospital, where he yelled and cursed about Meryl. Wolfwood heard about his being in the hospital and paid him a visit; in revenge for hurting Vash, Wolfwood poured hot sauce on Keele's wounds.
