Biography

Zazie participated in the massacre Roderick Thieves at Jeneorarock and was present for the Gung-Ho Gun roll call. DEMONS EYE

When he next appeared, he was disguised as a young boy wearing a poncho named Bete. He was caught by Milly while attempting to steal food from Vash and his party as they attempted to negotiate entry into the walled town of Keybos to get supplies. He leads them back to an abandoned building, in which a group of orphaned kids has holed up after all of the adults in their respective hometowns disappeared.

Vash and his party tend to the children, only to be ambushed the following morning by townsfolk and sandworms. Meryl, Milly, and the children make a run for Keybos, where they climb a tall building for safety. However, the worms are relentless. It turns out that Bete is wearing a device to control them. Once this device is destroyed, Bete is possessed and becomes Zazie the Beast. He takes Meryl hostage and points a gun at Vash, threatening to kill him. Vash tries to talk him down out of it, but is ultimately unsuccessful. Zazie is shot and killed by Wolfwood in a bid to save Vash's life.ALTERNATIVE
