The bartender ran a saloon in Warrens City. Frank Marlon, the town drunk, often visited her establishment.
One day, Frank came into the saloon with Vash the Stampede. The bartender approached the table and told Vash to give her his gun for her to hold on to until he left, as she didn't want any trouble. She remarked that the gun was strange when Vash handed it over to her.
Vash asked the bartender about Frank Marlon. She told him about how years ago, Warrens City was attacked by vicious bandits. Frank Marlon, the gunsmith, had handed out guns he'd made to the residents of the town and taught them how to use them to defend themselves against the bandits. Marlon was regarded as a hero by the townspeople. The bartender then asked Vash what his business with Frank Marlon was. Vash replied that he just wanted him to repair his gun.
