The Gung-Ho Guns are a group of assassins brought together by Knives to help further his agenda.
Biography
Not much is said in the 1998 anime about who they are or why Millions Knives decided he needed to create the group. There are twelve of them in total, counting Legato, and each one has a gimmick or theme. They are listed below in the order in which they appeared in the series.
Members
Legato Bluesummers
Number 1 of the Gung-Ho Guns, and the de facto leader of the group. His motif is death, from the decorations on his jacket to his straw nihilism. While he is the first Gung-Ho Gun to meet Vash, he is the last to face off against him.
Monev the Gale
An insanely muscular man who carries a massive chaingun on each arm. While he is the first Gung-Ho Gun to fight Vash, his number is unknown.
Dominique the Cyclops
Number 2 of the Gung-Ho guns. A femme-fatale whose gimmick lies behind the eyepatch she wears over her right eye.
E.G. Mine
Number 5 of the Gung-Ho Guns. A skinny man with a wild shock of hair who is partially encased between two hemispheres covered in needles. The needles can be fired at will.
Rai-Dei the Blade
Number 9 of the Gung-Ho Guns. Resembles a samurai from the Edo period who wields a sword with a concealed gun. He was trained by the masters of the Ito school of fighting.
Leonof the Puppetmaster
An older man who carries around a briefcase containing the pieces of a carved marionette that he can use to do his work by proxy. His Gung-Ho Gun number is unknown.
Gray the Ninelives
A towering, beefy humanoid robot who's basically a tank on legs. His Gung-Ho Gun number is unknown.
Hoppered the Gauntlet
Number 3 of the Gung-Ho Guns. He is a man who hides behind a conical shield and can become a deadly spinning-top-like projectile.
Zazie the Beast
Number 4 of the Gung-Ho Guns. He is a small boy who wears a device behind his ear that lets him control sandworms via high frequencies.
Chapel the Evergreen
A tall, severe-looking man who wears goggles with red lenses and wields a Punisher. He is Wolfwood's former mentor and faces off against his former pupil instead of Vash. His Gung-Ho Gun number is unknown.
Caine the Longshot
A silent marksman who wears a face mask and carries a sniper rifle with a ridiculously long barrel. His Gung-Ho Gun number is unknown.
Midvalley the Hornfreak
Number 11 of the Gung-Ho Guns. A suave musician in a jazz band whose instrument, a saxophone, is also a gun.

Notes
- Rai-Dei the Blade is the only member to have the same Gung-Ho Gun number in both the manga and anime continuities.
- Chapel the Evergreen and Caine the Longshot were characters created exclusively for the anime. They do not appear in the manga.
