- Kitayama was also the producer of the Gungrave anime, another series created by Yasuhiro Nightow.[1]
- He appeared in the Trigun Maximum postscript comic in volume 2.
- Kitayama was a guest at Anime Expo 2010, where he announced the premiere of the English subtitled version of Trigun: Badlands Rumble was to be screened for the following day after Funimation's reveal that they had obtained the rights to the film.[4]
