Millions Knives (anime): Difference between revisions

Knives begins life as a kid onboard a human colony ship that is part of a [[Project SEEDS]] fleet drifting through space. Both he and his twin brother, [[Vash the Stampede (anime)|Vash]], are independent Plants born from one of the dependent Plants during the voyage, and are raised primarily by [[Rem Saverem (anime)|Rem Saverem]], who is one of the human crew members. Knives, though more analytical and reserved than his brother, seems normal enough at first. He gets along with Rem, Vash, and the other crew members, and enjoys learning and spending time in the ship's rec room. But while Vash becomes closer to Rem, Knives becomes more distant and begins to ponder what he is and how he fits in among human society. Little does the crew know that Knives has been suffering verbal and physical abuse at the hands of alcoholic crew member Steve, who is resentful of both Knives and Vash. Knives cuts his own hair into its characteristic short crop around the same time Rem gives Vash his iconic hairstyle, and it is seemingly after this that things begin to unravel.
