Knives wakes up, and Chapel the Evergreen has a really, really bad day. Vash fights with Midvalley, whose saxophone is also a gun. Then Vash confronts Legato, who has <s>finally come to his senses and</s> taken both the insurance girls hostage. He achieves the impossible and gets Vash to shoot him. For real. He's dead. Legato is no more - he has ceased to be. And Vash actually finally killed a guy.
Vash is attacked by one last Gung-Ho Gun, Midvalley the Hornfreak. Legato takes Meryl and Milly hostage and forces Vash to make a grievous decision.
