LaserDisc & VHS [1]

This first release, consisting of 13 volumes, was released simultaneously on LaserDisc and VHS. The first volume was released on August 5, 1998. Both formats of the volumes retailed for ¥5800 each.[1]

The cover illustrations on this release were done by Yasuhiro Nightow.[2] [3] Each volume included a 4-page newspaper-styled insert called Monthly Satellite Times, which contained bonus content including production materials, messages and insight from the staff, interviews with the cast and crew, and illustrations from guest artists. Also included in each volume was a survey card which could be mailed to Victor Company of Japan to redeem points. Those who redeemed all 13 cards' worth of points (a total of 52) would receive a gift in return--a Kuroneko-sama plush toy--as a thank you for purchasing all 13 volumes.[1]

LaserDisc only

Two limited edition boxes made to hold the LaserDisc versions were released. The first box came with the TRIGUN STAGE-1 LaserDisc included, and the second box came with the TRIGUN STAGE-7 LaserDisc included. The boxes retailed for ¥5800 each.[1]

The box illustrations were done by Yasuhiro Nightow.

Rental Video series (VHS & DVD)

This release consisted of 7 volumes, released on both VHS and DVD.

The cover illustrations were done by Takahiro Yoshimatsu.[4]
